canopyziplineOur Rainforest Zip-line Tour, imitates the flight of the chestnut-mandibled toucan, as it leaps off a branch, swoops down through the forest and then up in to another tree. On this tour, 8 separate cable rides take you from one ridge top to another, across valleys and streams. There are 14 land based platforms and 1 tree platform with a view of the coast. You will have 2 guides on this tour one of whom speaks fluent English. This is a great way to see and learn about the forest and have lots of fun at the same time.

Horseback Riding – Nauyaca Waterfall

The reviews  on Trip Advisor by many of our clients expressed this as being the best tour in Dominical! You will begin with a 40 minutes horseback ride, giving you a chance to admire the exotic birds and wildlife before arriving at Don Lulo’s house for a traditional “Tico style” breakfast. Here you will meet more of our jungle friends at the small zoo they have on their property. You can hold a toucan and scarlet macaw and maybe even pet a sloth. After breakfast the journey continues until you reach the magnificent Nauyaca waterfall. You will be amazed at the energy of 150 feet high water dropping into a 20 feet deep pool below.  At the waterfall you can swim in the energizing pool and enjoy its refreshing beauty or be adventurous and climb the face of the falls as high as you want and jump into the cool, clear water.  After the waterfall you will return to Lulo’s house by horseback to have lunch and then return to the starting point.

Mangrove Kayaking

mangrove -kayakingMangrove swamps are one of the richest natural environments in the world. Mangrove trees are the only plantthat thrives in salt water. You’ll see a great variety of birds in the swamps including: Bare-Throated Tiger Heron, Little Blue Heron, Brown Pelican, Royal Tern; and mammals including White Faced Capuchin Monkey, Three and Two-Toed Sloth, Northern & Crab Eating Raccoons, and White Nosed Coati. Some of the reptiles indigenous to the swamps are the Green Iguana, Jesus Christ Lizard, Boa Constrictor snake and 6 different species of crabs.Departing from Dominical, heading north for about 5 kilometers on the Costanera Highway we will arrive at the Hatillo Mangrove Swamps next to Guapil Beach. We may stop along the way to view sloths, toucans or monkeys. At the put-in spot your guide will give safety instructions and will explain to you the grand significance of this environment. We will then introduce you to an easy, 3 hour paddle through the canals discovering the beauty and the great variety of fauna that this estuary offers. The tour’s departure time depends upon the tides.

Stand Up Paddle

Stand up paddle board instructors will teach you how to paddle out through the beach break, introduce you to different techniques & even catch some waves.

Waterfall Rappelling – Costa Canyoning

waterfall- rappellingWaterfall rappelling at it’s greatest here in the Dominical area! You depart in the morning from Uvita and take a 15 minute ride up to the top of the canyon. From there you begin your adventure down the six waterfalls. The smallest being 5 meters and the biggest an adrenalin pumping 25 meters! This is a kid friendly tour, although kids must be ages 11 and up. The guides are highly trained with over 12 years of international canyon guiding experience. Snacks and beverages provided at the end of your adventure. This is a half day tour. You will return from your adventure around 12 in the afternoon. In the dry season they offer tours that leave both in the morning and in the afternoon.Costa Rica is one of the best places in the world for rafting. The rainforests form heavenly rivers that are excellent for this sport. We choose rivers without dams for a natural ride. The rivers’ spectacular scenic beauty and tranquility combined with emotions and adrenaline making it the perfect balance for a pleasant descent. The rivers that we run are good for beginners as well as experts.

Catarata Uvita

catarataLocated in the heart of Uvita, this private waterfall is a great attraction to visit while in the area. You can park your car at the restaurant just off the road where the owners will welcome you. While you are here why not treat yourself to an excellent “Tico Style” meal and enjoy a beverage (yes, there is a full-bar). At the waterfall, below the restaurant, you can enjoy your time swimming in the crystal clear water while listening to the symphony of the jungle. And for those who are daring try the waterfall’s naturally carved-out rock water slide; it is a blast. And keep on the look-out because this place is a poplar attraction for spotting monkeys!

Reptile Park

reptile-parkVisit the south pacific zone’s only reptile and amphibian park. Observe these magnificent animals in lush, natural settings. Learn to identify venomous and non-venomous snakes, marvel at poison dart frogs, delight in rain forest lizards and tortoises, and be impressed by prehistoric looking crocodiles all in secure enclosures. Parque Reptilandia is comprised of 55 terrarium style enclosures and ponds on a little over an acre of land. A wide, flat path through the park makes it wheelchair accessible and a comfortable walk for young and old alike. The central viewing area is undercover and features glass-fronted terrariums arranged with rock, perches and local flora that provide a natural environment for the animals and a rich viewing experience for our guests. The grounds are spacious and beautifully landscaped with tropical flowers, palms and fruit trees, which encourage bird-life and butterflies. Each animal enclosure is extensively planted and designed to take advantage of natural sunlight and rain. They feature a variety of reptiles and amphibians from Costa Rica and other parts of the world including venomous and non-venomous snakes, frogs, lizards, crocodiles, tortoises and turtles. Bring your camera and spend as much time as you like!

Poza Azul Waterfall

poza-azulPoza Azul is a beautiful waterfall located from only 10 minutes walk from the picturesque Dominicalito beach. The falls are approximately 40ft high with nice cool water that will refresh you after a surf session. Beautiful trees, plants and places to relax. Monkeys sometime appear out of no-where jumping from tree to tree in their way up to the mountain. There is a swing rope attached to a big tree where you can make a jump of up to 20 feet high depending on how high you go in the steps behind the tree. Costa Rica surf camp visitors often say this waterfall was one of their favorite spots; you should not miss this beautiful place!

Hacienda Baru National Park

Marine Whale’s Tail National Park

scuba-divingBeautiful Ballena National Marine Park is located on the Southern Pacific coast as an isolated, pristine beauty. The park is formed by 110 hectares of coast and 5,400 hectares of protected ocean territory. It is packed with unique natural formations that make its beaches out of the ordinary. Its waters are overlooked by the lush green mountains of the Fila Costeña Range. The reserve has been named after the migration of whales that come to mate between January through April and August through November. It also has a sand bar in shape of a whale’s tale. You can hike, swim, kayak or paddle board in the marine reserve. Along the way you will enjoy the scenery of the islands Three Sisters and Whale’s Island. From there we will do some snorkeling around the corals that surround the Whale’s Tale. This tour includes professional equipment, snacks (fruits and drinks), transportation and lots of fun.

Scuba Diving & Snorkeling

Cano Island Biological Reserve

cano-islandCano Island Biological Reserve is located in the Pacific Ocean 15 km., off the Osa Peninsula. Snorkeling in Costa Rica is best offshore and Cano Island is rated the 2nd best place in Costa Rica for scuba diving and snorkeling. You depart in the morning from Uvita’s Whale’s Tail National Park. On the way to the island you have the chance to spot whales, sea turtles and dolphins. We get humpback, killer and pilot whales, too. Once you arrive to the island you will be given a chance to go snorkeling for about 45 minutes. You then enter the island where you have a chance to explore and enjoy a wonderful lunch. After lunch you board the boat again and go to the second location for snorkeling. You have the option to stay on the beach if you prefer. This tour is an all-day tour, leaving at 8 AM and returning at 5 PM.

Waves & Caves Kayaking

The intense noise of the waves echoing on the eroded volcanic rock, combined with the sparkling turquoise water splashing around you, will make your heart pound with excitement. As you catch glimpses of whales and pelicans, enjoy the spectacular view of the rolling green mountains meeting the palm tree-filled, dark sand beaches.
